American dialect workshop

Post by admin »

I am very excited to say that we have now been offered the opportunity to offer workshops on American dialects by a well known voice coach and at a special rate for our site.

The workshop will use a variety of fun techniques to teach the standard American accent for use in theatre, film and voice work.

Initially we are looking at offering a one off session in London, sorry regional friends we are planning to come round the country it just takes longer to organise. Hopefully this will be towards the end of June and could lead to a course being offered in the autumn subject to interest.

Please let me know if this is something of interest to people.

If this is a direction you don't want the site to go in then let us know that too.

If it's open to over 16s and after A levels I think my DD would be very interested in this as well!

Wow, this would be fantastic. What a unique opportunity! Definitely, the later in June the better for me, personally. I think a lot of us have exams May/June.

We would be interested too, dd is Violet Beauregarde in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory in July, so it would be last minute help for her.

Hi Genevieve. The new site is coming very soon and the workshops will be detailed more clearly there. Just bear with us for now, we are really just trying to gauge the level of interest and find out what people are interested in.

Yes please to American dialect workshop - DD's agent said he wanted them all to have three accents they can act in so please count her in for this and other accent workshops...preferably after exams, too. Many thanks, it all sounds so exciting xx

That would be great! Funny thing is my husband and I are Americans but our daughters been in the British school system so she sounds BrAmerican. Not entirely British and not entirely American. She could use a workshop to help her distinguish the two.
