Who has taken over Kerrie Mailey's old position?
Now that Kerrie Mailey has gone onto pastures new, does anyone know who the 'new' CBBC casting director is? Maybe it will become a shared job, but I'd be interested to know.

LA, I believe I would also be interested to know who has taken over from her..

I think it is Sue Needleman.

I understood that like most casting directors, Kerrie was freelance. In the past couple of years she was used for most CBBC in-house productions and specialised in children's casting but she wasn't the CD for all CBBC programmes, she didn't cast The Dumping Ground, Wolfblood, The Sparticle Mystery, Young Dracula to name a few - each production company recruits a CD. It's a shame Kerrie has gone to LA though as she was so willing to do open casting calls and liked to see lots of children. Not many of the others work in the same way so I think it's unlikely there will be many open casting calls for CBBC programmes now unless they're looking for something unusual.

Hubbards are also casting for CBBC now and when my dd was auditioning spoke to a young intern there who said for the one lead in a new CBBC prog they were only seeing 50 girls, so the larger amounts of children that Kerrie Mailey used to see, I guess is finished. Needless to say dd did not get it! Amy Hubbard was recently advertsing for a new assistant CD and we saw him too........ Martin, very nice man.

ah - i wonder where she'd gone - my 2 used to go to her classes
not a fan of castings-of-thousands myself - both mine are now over the magic 16 age now anyway, so will be interested to see how those of you with younger offspring get on
