Open casting for Fantastic Beasts Sequel
Warner Bros. Pictures and the filmmakers behind the Fantastic Beasts sequel are holding open calls for five young actors to join the cast of the film.
The studio is looking for young people to play five new roles in the film, including teenage incarnations of Newt Scamander, Leta Lestrange, Gellert Grindelwald and Albus Dumbledore.
An open casting call has gone out for three actors between the ages of 13 and 16 to play young versions of Newt, Leta, and another character called Sebastian.
They are also looking for actors between 16 and 18 to portray both Gellert Grindelwald and Albus Dumbledore as teenagers. So, if you know any young acting hopefuls who know their Elder Wand-lore, or have a penchant for Sherbert Lemons, now is the time to let them know.

Will this be going through agents too do you think or do we need to nudge them? Looks v exciting
If you think that you're too small to make an impact, try sleeping with a mosquito in the room.

Oooh lovely! I was trying to remember if it went to agents last time? I think it did but my DS was out of casting due to theatre run - how exciting! Good luck all!
Re: Open casting for Fantastic Beasts Sequel
A bit odd! I applied this morning for dd and ds and had (over the course of an hour) 5 duplicate automated responses! Anyone else had this happen to them? Must be a glitch in the system. Probably groaning under the weight of a trillion applications!
Re: Open casting for Fantastic Beasts Sequel
Yes I would guess the number of applications must be HUGE ! My auto response took over 5 hours
The role for adult Leta Lestrange is played by Zoe Kravitz so guessing they are looking for a young black actress.
If the casting call was a bit more specific maybe they wouldn't be quite as inundated with applications. Lol

Re: Open casting for Fantastic Beasts Sequel
Is Leta the only girl part? I was going to apply for my daughter but I guess no point now as she is white.
I'm swanning around trying to get the hang of all this! Thanks for your help!
Re: Open casting for Fantastic Beasts Sequel
Leta is the only girl part listed, but there could be others available unlisted to protect the story content, or not, who knows lol
Good luck if you apply

Automatic replies are definitely taking ages lol.
I applied last night for myself and my brother and still haven't received one. There's Deffo going to be a lot of submissions to go through lol.

They are looking for teen versions of
Zoe Kravitz
Jude Law
Eddie Redmayne
And two unspecified actors for the parts of Gellart and Sebastian
So I'm guessing if you look like the three actors above you have a fighting chance of being seen!

I applied for my DS this morning and had an instant automated reply to say they will be in touch if they wished to pursue within 14 days. Sure they have had 1000's and 1000's of emails but nothing to lose by trying....
