I was flicking between The Voice and BBC Young Musician of the Year - certainly puts the word "talent" in to perspective!! Loved the blind auditions and the battle round, but now it's just like any other mediocre talent show.

Perhaps I m in a minority of one, but I am still enjoying the voice. I do think the calibre is higher than on X factor etc and like the different types of voices that are on show - not just those who can belt very loud like on the other shows.

I think Ruth is great. Apparently according to my friend, one of the contestants has been subject to quite unpleasant harrassment on twitter, which is a shame - not sure who

I'm still loving it. The first rounds were the best, getting to know the judges and seeing them fight over the contestants. But I think the caliber of singers is amazing and it is difficult to pick the best. It is called The Voice because that is what they want us to focus on but I agree that you do need overall performance to make real stars.

Cannot believe Jaz and Ruth have gone! What a ridiculous outcome!

As soon as the chair turning ended, the programme just became like the others.

The snag seemed to be that the advice from some of the tutors is very kit and miss. Some performances just weren't that good. Jessie made me smile quite a few times by attempting to convince everyone she really understood some features, when it was clear she knew the words, but had no idea how to use them. I caught Tom Jones smiling at her sometimes in an almost eyes to the ceiling look. It's pretty clear that some of the techniques they are using they've just copied from other popular artistes without really understanding it. Considering the contestants existing style and voice type - some choices of songs have been weird in the extreme. When the use common arrangements, it's so easy to use the original artistes performance as the yardstick, and of course - the contestants will never come close. When they do new arrangement styles the differences are clear. In my humble view it's a bit sad to see the 3 younger ones trying to outdo Tom Jones, who seems to have coached his people better. Maybe it's just that he's worked with so many different people from every style over the years he can suggest better things? The younger ones are very successful in quite narrow areas, so faced with very different style singers, some are finding it tough.

I don't know for certain but I'd suspect many 'stars' of their type are very heavily managed and steered, so perhaps they don't quite have the skills yet to manage outside their comfort zone.

Some actors can become directors, but others just can't hack it at all. I know we only see clips from their one-to-one sessions, but some of their advice really sounds like things they've heard other people say to them?

Not impressed now.

Given it up on a Saturday night and just catch up on a Sunday - are these 4 really the best they could come up with. Tylers version of bohemian Rhapsody was dreadful but someone seems to like him ](*,) ](*,)

I have stuck with the show and have to say I am still enjoying it. I have enjoyed the eclectic mix of singeres and songs. I was not at all surprised to see Jaz and Ruth go. Although both are great singeres they essentiall gave the same perfromance every week, i think the impact of their voices wore off because of this, while someone like Leeanne seemed to grow each week. I like the final 4 though Vice is by far the weakest (as were all of Jessie's team). BTW Shortguy, I can tell you who likes Tyler, everyone under 25      Looking forward to the final next week.

I still think this has been a better show than the X Factor (which i finally gave up on last year). The quality has been better, and far less of the sob story type element. I like the idea of the coaches, though agree with Paulears that they were well meaning but variable. However, its no surprise that TJ is the best, he has decades of expereinece compared to these new youngsters who will probably only last a few years anyway. As for Will.i.am he admitted on Friday night that he only sings with autotune and is in fact having singing lessons   . While no doubt he is a good producer, a singing mentor he is not ;)

The trouble with autotune is that while it can put people back in tune, it can't make a rubbish voice sound good. I've got one, and know this only too well! It actually tells me my pitching is pretty good, my ears tell me that no matter what I try, a singer I shall never be!

Did anyone follow this all the way to the end or did you - like me - decide to follow it on twitter via westendproducer for greater entertainment value?

I hear that there are plans afoot to bring The Voice Kids format to the BBC. It aired in the Netherlands a while ago. It's for 8 - 14 year olds. Anyone interested? I haven't mentioned it to Flo yet....

I watched it through to the end and really enjoyed it, thought it was a refreshing change from the X Factor, BGT etc.

Dh was working in the Netherlands recently and had the pleasure of doing some vocal coaching with one of the kids voice contestants. She was fab, the standard was very high( I believe she has since been cast in a musical in a child's role that will open over there). My two listened to some YouTube clips and now desperately wand the kids voice to be made here !
