Ds has wide feet and we are struggling to find tap shoes that fit without going up so much in length that he might as well have clown shoes. Anyone know any makes that come up wide? He is about a UK size 1.

Ds has wide feet and has always been OK with Bloch. It is worth finding a shop the first time you buy them to try them on and get your head round the sizing compared with say Clarks sizing, then you can order online for subsequent pairs. They are expensive but resell very easily on eBay. I think we went to the Bloch shop in Covent Garden for the first pair and made it a big treat of an outing. Hope you find something suitable.

The Bloch Split Sole (Tapflex I think) tap shoes have very soft leather and seem quite wide so could be a good bet, expensive but comfortable and no breaking in.

My DS also has wide feet - and large at size 11.

We stick with Bloch as they are soft leather and stretch nicely, can be pricy but keep an eye out for your son's size on Ebay as second hand usually means they are nicely broken in for you , and if you have a child who's feet are growing Ebay is FAB !!
