hi reachforthestars - dd just gone into 3rd year at Laine - from memory we were there for 9-9.30 they did a ballet class a jazz class and an acting class in the morning (in groups so could be in any order) break for lunch then solo dances/songs in afternoon. Can't remember what order but may have been alphabetical we are Smith and remember finishing around 5ish I think. Good luck - dd has had a fantastic time and wishes she was starting again not coming to the end ;)

Our DS auditioned at Laine last year, the format was the same as Suesmith describes. He has just gone into year 2 and is really enjoying it. The days are very long so he is exhausted when we speak to him on a night!!!
Good luck with auditions!! Laine is a fantastic place with fab training and a real family feel , students are very well supported by the college.

Hi reachforthestars, we are from the east coast so we have a 10 hour round trip to Laine and back.
For the audition we stayed in the travelodge in Epsom the night before. We were able to find Laine studios the night before , it took the stress out if it.

Thank you! When is your DD's first one? Nerve-wracking isn't it! We've got 2 more dates for January and 2 more applications to do. Just waiting for a teacher recommendation letter.

lbm1e14 wrote:Two interesting developments at GSA. First is a fact. Michael Moore is no longer Head of MT - his Twitter profile now says "Former Head....". No reason that I can find in the public domain. Second is hearsay so may not be true. DD has been told that GSA have drastically cut the number of contact hours for MT compared to prior years. If true one might conclude that the two developments are related. Trouble in paradise?
Its true Michael Moor is no longer head of MT at GSA but he is still working there so it could be his decision? Also noticed hes working for an Agency as well so maybe thats why. Who knows? Also my DD is doing MT at GSA and says nobodys contact hours have reduced. They're all still working long hard but happy days :D

Yes, I'm more nervous than my DD I think! Her first one is at the end of Nov, then one a week later and the 3rd a week after that. We're hoping for a 4th around 24th Nov and the 5th one that's in we should be advised of a date towards the end of Oct. That leaves us with four left to submit. Lots of luck with applications and auditions :)
