2018 applications open from 20th Oct

Post by theMTAonline »

Hi NAPM
Just giving you all the early head's up that The MTA will be accepting applications for 2018 entry from 20th Oct.
Twice named The Stage School of the Year (2012 & 2017), we have a 100% success rate in our students securing independent agent representation BEFORE graduating (last year's lot were all signed 3 months earlier). Full details of the course here: https://youtu.be/kvzDdRGqSgY

Hopefully this year we can save you some money with our new initiative #auditionfromhome https://youtu.be/csz3ldOLNpI This gives you a free self tape pre-audition if you like, ensuring that you're only having to pay if we really think that you might be right for us.

Please don't let money put you off . . . talk to us. We've just started an attempt to crowd fund some sort of substantial Hardship Fund.

It's 100% vocational, no qualifications needed, it's purely based on ability and potential.
Here are the key facts for you:
2 year course, with a MAX of 22 students/year
40hrs+ contact hrs/wk, 40wks+ tuition a year
81% of all graduates are still in the industry - 86% of those worked last year
19.5% of those are in, or have been in the West End or on a No 1 tour (so if we take that stat over ALL of our grads, even those that have had a career change - that would be 16%)
Public performances in professional theatres, every term
Industry recognised pioneering pastoral care policy - we started the #time4change Mental Health Charter, and indeed we're still working with colleges as we attempt to get it implemented in more colleges.
Equal 3 way split on disciplines - with the main difference being that we're a 50/50 stage/screen split.
Most importantly of all, our graduates are eligible for Equity membership and full Spotlight membership on graduation

Happy to answer questions (as always). It's definitely not the right course for everyone, just because it is 'full on'. The 2 year format is really intensive. However it does mean that people are out earning sooner ;-)
