Video submissions for Arts Ed

Post by amo185 »

Does anyone here know how much of the body needs to be filmed for Arts Ed audition songs? DD had assumed it was top half of body only but she now thinks they want to see the whole of the body as in the dancing. She's basing this on audition tips Arts Ed have produced with their current students.
Wondering if anyone has submitted yet! Thanks x

I don't know the answer, but I would imagine it would need to be the whole body as it would be for 'acting through song' rather than just singing. Personally I stand still while singing so I'd be completely rubbish at the whole body thing but I think it's probably important for stage presence. I'll ask my DS as he's planning to apply to Arts Ed.

DS filmed his ArtsEd yesterday and for singing recorded just the upper body.

Thanks for the replies. It seems other colleges are requiring upper body only so DD is going with that. Another friend apparently got a recall using just upper body so presumably it doesn't matter :)
