monologue help, please - is this a good choice?

Post by tikka »

Hi
Searching for the dreaded monologue.......ds has an interview for BTEC Performing Arts shortly and he needs to do a monologue of up to 3 mins. He's is thinking of doing a bit of Adrian Mole, as he likes the book but I think it may be a bit young. Would this be suitable? Any other ideas for a 16 yo boy?

Monolgues are great IF you can find the right one, otherwise they seem to take up so much time whilst you agonise over it!

Dont know much about Adrian Mole but would have said maybe a bit young. My son did a monologue from Equus at about that age which went down well

What about a monologue from Teechers? I think there's quite a good one for the character of Salty who is a 15 year old boy. The only thing is that it's meant to be Northern, so you'd have to see if it would work with whatever accent your son has.
