Which Acting Class

Post by loulou »

Hi There
Hope some of you can help. I am looking at two differnt Acting Classes for my two children age 4 and 9,and dont know which one would be the best one to use. My son loves singing and dancing but only 4 so not sure if he would injoy acting. and my daughter loves acting but not sure if she would like singing and dancing as she did try one a year ago for a month and said she did not like the singing and dancing, but then they did not seem that good anyway.I am now looking at Razzamataz Theatre Schools or Helen O’Grady Drama Academy’ both in Derbyshire. They both use a casting local casting agency one of which is Aardvark Casting which i have never hear of. And again if any of you could tell me if you know the agency. I am looking for one where they are doing acting and not just fun play as my daughter has now done that for a year and not learnt anything.
Hope you can help me. :?

My dd does Helen O Grady (not in Derbyshire) and was offered the chance recently to join Aardvark casting. I am not absolutely sure what the connection is with Helen O Grady but Aardvark seems to be a casting agency established in australia and other countries and is now expanding into the uk (I notice they are advertising on Starnow). It is free to join including the photo if you go to a Helen O Grady class and I think only £10 if you didn't and this was taken off your first payment so no work and you don't pay.

My dd is already with an agent so did not join. Considering what has been said on this site about Spotlight and photos (and our own experiences) I was wondering how they could actually have any success but they have already sent a couple of children off for auditions and are only just getting started. After spending a fortune on photos and Spotlight I am watching with interest....

She loves Helen O Grady by the way - the only class she hasn't got bored with and she has been doing it 3 years.
