Song ideas for a Lounge singer

I need help on choosing songs for a lounge singer. I sing all different styles and will need suitable songs for this new job. I would be grateful for your choices so my performances have lots of variety. Thanks

Gosh this is such a huge question! What kind of venues/clientele? What kind of things do you like to sing? There are some wonderful anthologies available which cover different era (30's. 40's 50's etc) or anthologies to suit a particular voice type (soprano/mezzo etc). I should think that a good repertoire of "standards" (e.g jazz standards, popular classical- if these suit your voice - and popular MT songs) plus a few of your own favourites thrown in. I think I'd be tempted to browse one of the music websites like music room and pick up a few collections of books.
