H - I've just checked the syllabus for Grade 5, and they are NOT expected to have read the whole play, nor even have any full knowledge of the play's summary - that's only required from Grade 6 onwards. The only things in the knowledge that they need for grade 5 are the following (and this is directly from the LAMDA syllabus):
Appearance of the character
Situation of the character
How the character is feeling in the selected scene
The actions of the character
Changes in mood through the scene
When you move onto Grade 6, it specifically say that knowledge of the whole play is required but there's definitely no mention of this lower down the grades.
And good luck to N for tomorrow

I posted similar on the stage forum bt I think (though I have lent my copy out) that the female shopper point of view monolgue is in the Anne Harvey Monologues for Young Actors anthology.
Feedback from a merit candidate who did this piece last year was
You used your space well here relating clearly to the lady - jus raise your eye level. Youhave a rich strong, well projected voice. You communicated asense of reality. Work to build on the personal characteristics of the haracter.
You appreciated how your character was feeling and described your situation expandon this now.
