Extra factory

Post by jessmcg20 »

Helloo,
Sorry i think ive posted quite a lot lately but just a bit confused!
I'm currently with Geraldine Gillman Associates yet have not had a single audition since ive been with her, I'm on spotlight, but have recently been asked to join the Extra's agency- "The Extra Factory", www.extrafactory.co.uk, and have been invited for a photoshoot in London and become a member of their "Model Factory" also. I was just wondering what everyone's advice would be, do you think its worth leaving my current agency who isn't just an extras agency for this company?
I'm really keen to get earning some money and feel that being an extra could help me, it'd also build up my experience which at the moment is building up very slowly due to no auditions coming through!

Sorry i just really need some help!
Thanks :) xxx

Hi Jessica

Well, if it is acting that you want to do then it's definitely not a good idea to switch to an extra's agency, because whilst you might make some money, you won't get any credits so it's not that useful in that respect.

I would suggest that you either stay with your current agency (how long have you been with them btw?) or try and find another acting agency. If you want to do extra work then you shouldn't really have to leave your current agency. Even if your current agency is exclusive, I'm pretty sure that most agencies allow you to be in an extras agency as well. Maybe you could ask your agent about it?

Hope this helps, good luck!
