Licence Advice

After Easter my ds will be flexischooled - meaning he will be in school 3 days and home 2 days - this is due to problems with dwindling numbers at his very tiny rural school - and is something I would have preferred to have not needed to do! Anyway - it's happened - but I have no idea what I do when it comes to licensing if it falls on those 2 days. Anyone any experience of this? Do I just say it's OK or is it still school responsibility. He will be marke off as Educated Offsite anyway on the 2 days. I know I need to talk to the LEA really, but want to wait until school have spoken to them too from their end and was interested to hear thoughts?

Oh my goodness, I know absolutely nothing about the licensing situation, but from a school point of view, that's absolutely terrible!!!! Is this an ongoing situation or just a short-term measure? It doesn't sound a satisfactory way to carry on ongoingly?

Hi, I probably phrased that badly. Not the school's fault. Finances demanded a change that we weren't comfortable with - so it was leave or adapt it to suit. I love the school so wanted to stay. They have been fantastic and trail blazing. The school is still there every day - just not us

But - I would like any info anyone has on licensing x

OK - I'll just dismount my high-horse then! Best of luck with it, whatever the case - and from a licensing point of view, maybe it'll free DS up from the constraints the schools impose?

Hi

We home educated so no school at all. Licencing still worked the same as for school children, except there was no headteacher to ask as that was technically me! If you are filming on the 2 days spent 'offsite' then I should think its the same thing, as presumeably you are in charge of 'providing a suitable education' on those 2 days so you'd still need a licence but you could sign the school bit of it.

I think flexischooling is an amazing opportunity. Enjoy every second you can. Bit of a problem if you are supposed to be at work though!

Oh wow, I would loooove that. Enjoy every minute while you can, sure it will be a special time for you both. Sure it will help with licencing as well. Everything happens for a purpose, perhaps there is a real biggi around the corner!! xx
