Agents (again)

Post by JTBmum »

Hi,

Im wondering if it is better to wait until after the drama school final Showcase to sign with an agent (assuming you get offers). DD had some interest from three agents during her 3rd year shows, but only one, not that big, agent offered to sign, the others have been a bit non committal. I think she was hoping to get some more interest from a bigger agent before deciding.

Any suggestions? :?

I know that at the school I attended, the Principal was very happy to give advice on this kind of thing. Has she asked her tutors or the Principal?

I expect that, if the agent is really keen then they are likely to wait for her. The school should definitely be able to advise about the reputation/standing of the agent. Big isn't always best - some smaller agencies work well for their clients - so I don't think hanging on is absolutely essential if she has a good feeling about this one and the school thinks they are ok. The problem with this kind of decision is, it will always be hard to know whether it's the right one. :?

I'd be inclined to take the school's advice.
