Good Phone Insurance Company

Post by Irishdancer »

Some one stole my iPhone 2 weeks ago I sent of the clame form with all the documents sent it next day delivery got it all back forgot to tick a box, sent it back with all the documents stapled together sent that next day delivery got a text a few days ago to ask for my proof of me buying phone which I had already sent, phoned them up and said they had it looks like they lost it so emailed it over to them that was a few days ago, they said it would not take long still waiting. Any one got an insurance company that they can recommend, I'm with o2 they charge £16 a month to insure I'm with Jade Stanley now but not happy with there service they charge £6.99 a month a lot cheaper than o2 but are useless. Am dreading getting my phone back as will have over 2 weeks worth of texts and voice mails to go through.

There is a good guide to mobile insurance over at MoneySavingExpert.com which should be a good start for looking around - headline is prices from £5/month. One point often missed is that it can simply be cheaper to add the phone on to home contents instance. Also, whilst a network's own insurance isn't particularly cheap, it usually includes an immediate replacement phone - that bit extra might be worth not having these weeks of doing without...

We're with Liverpool Victoria. A couple of months ago dh's MacBook air was taken from a classroom at college. I phoned up. They took all details over the phone. He had originally bought it online so they just asked for a crime ref no. and said if he couldn't find receipt to email a photo of the empty box which we still had in the lift with model no.

They called back saying that model was no longer made so we would be getting a newer version and it arrived within a week of us giving them the info.

You can also claim on travel insurance if it is not at home. We have annual insurance and anything we have whereve we go is covered. Its not just for holidays.
