26 reasons why you didn't get the part

Post by pg »

I quite like this:

I think it does help to remind oneself of this every now and again!

I liked it too. It left one out though - Your not an A list actor! Or maybe it could work the other way?

you haven't had a previous major role, and although we have called an open audition, we actually already have an experienced 'name' in mind.

i know we called you in, but we're actually planning to give most of the roles to another agency's clients

we're actually planning to cast someone form birmingham/italy/america, but we just thought we'd keep our options open

since you auditioned, we've decided we only want to cast someone from birmingham/italy/america - heaven forbid we could have made that decision before we saw 200 London-based actors

you have no relatives in the business (they don't have to be famous - i know a daughter of the film company's accountant who got a nice little cameo)
Life is complex - some of it is real, some of it is imaginary.

Quote by a very experienced American Casting Director currently based in Prague:

Reason why you got the part - "You look like the Director`s mum"

Reason why you didnt get the part - "You look like the Director`s mum"

Struck a chord with me somewhere....

Thank you SO much for this thread which really cheers me up.........and borne out last night at an audition with dd, invited by the CD...why?? ](*,) Dd was a head taller than the rest and did not fit the brief... ](*,) had I known we could stay home, we are not frail and waif-like...no, like most there, were are blonde with a capitol B and the callback was for a miniature brunette....still, had a nice coffee... #-o
