The Actors Gang

I heard an interesting programme on Radio Four, on Saturday 15 December 2012. When the State of California, in an effort to balance its budget had to cut back on arts programme, that great American actor Tim Robbins, (Shawshank Redemption) - the leading light of The Actors Gang, told the warden of a Los Angeles prison that he'd somehow find the money. His group remains the only one still operating a rehabiltative programme with thieves, murderers and rapists, working on their emotional range and channelling it into other routes. This was a fascinating short glimpse into the work they do, and the affect it had on the inmates.

Life is complex - some of it is real, some of it is imaginary.
