Hi everyone,
My teacher at school is writing me a reference for Drama School Applications and wants to know what she should include! Should it just basically say she recommends me etc? How long should it be roughly/? thanks!!! x
What should be included in a reference?

Thye usually give a word length and/or what they want to know. She should try to explain why they should consider you - your commitment to the subject, experiences, relevant personal skills and qualities etc

Re: What should be included in a reference?
I've written references for drama school applications before and I've stressed the applicant's suitability for training, willingness to learn, great attitude in the rehearsal room etc. (if true!). I wasn't given a length, but I was given an idea of what to cover in the reference (it's usually about your suitability for the course/training). I generally write a couple of short paragraphs but it does depend a little on the applicant.
I think the teacher just needs to honestly highlight your strengths, whatever those may be, and link these to the training - this is what most people would expect from a reference I think.
