A couple of weeks ago my agent contacted me asking me if I was free to shoot a BBC documentary. They said I may be given some lines nearer the time and they have never contacted me about extra work before so it didn't occur to me this would be anything but a featured, credited role.
However the shoot is now due to start in a few days time and I received the call sheet yesterday which had me down as an extra.
I have my GCSEs coming up and am very pressed for time at the moment so I would have never agreed to do this if I had thought it was extra work. I only really agreed to have an additional credit on my CV which I now won't be able to have.
I assume it is far too late to pull out now?
I have noticed there are only 3 other people listed as extras though so what are the chances that in the end I will be heavily featured/ have some lines and be able to put this on my CV?
Thanks

Re: Misunderstanding
Shouldn't you be having this conversation with your agent? And fairly urgently, I would have thought!

Re: Misunderstanding
Cant you still put this on your professional cv, even if you are an extra ?
Re: Misunderstanding
I think I'd put my education first on this one, there will always be other opportunities. I think that your agent works for you, and therefore agree that you need to be having an honest conversation with them about your current situation and the level of commitment you can offer. I don't think it's too late to pull out - but the sooner you make the decision and explain to your agent about their misunderstanding the better. Don't get too stressed over it - there are bigger things to worry about, and if it's meant to be.....then it will be. Hope it goes ok.

Re: Misunderstanding
I agree with CatKat_0 GCSEs are more important my ds is doing his this year so have told agent only holidays and weekends but even then ds was to go to school tomorrow and Friday for Spanish revision he had already arranged to do something tomorrow so could not go but going Friday has had to go in on Saturday. If you are still at school you will have to get schools permission to have time of school to film if you are already 16 you still need a license till 30th June. Your agent should have told you that you where a extra they might not even know so like every one says contact your agent, tell them your education is too important and you can not do it.
Re: Misunderstanding
Seeing as you are "very pressed for time at the moment so I would have never agreed to do this if I had thought it was extra work", then (if I were you) I wouldn't do it
They'll have plenty of other people and you will get plenty of other work, don't worry
Nobody in their right mind could blame you, but let them know soon!
