Official DADA award received today from Bird so we have just turned down a place with a DADA at Performers so hopefully will make someone’s day! X

That's brilliant - so you got offered a Dada only a couple of days ago and it's all confirmed already ? I've been waiting weeks for the final confirmation on ours ?

Yes she’s been on the foundation year and finally got her audition results on Friday, income assessments all done Monday and final offer received today 😃

Hi I wondered if people could tell me anything about the mountview part time foundation course for my daughter . Is it a good course? Also if one is on a reserve list for GSA .. how likely is it to gain a position, and if so when can this happen until. Many thanks for any advice

Fingers crossed you may find that GSA offered places to international students who dont then take their place so there may be more movement than last year. Mine had decided to go to Barcelona In January but changed her mind because of uncertainty - fortunately she had other offers

Awww that’s such a shame :( :(
But I do know two girls who have been given bursaries this year, so they have given some out

That's awful for that individual waiting this long to be told no at this stage of the game - they emailed back in early May saying the LTA bursary assistance is no longer available so surely they could have told them then rather than having them wait a further month - hope they have other options available.

I think it’s really tough for this years intake. I can’t help but wonder if postponing until 2021 would be beneficial or detrimental to these students. If my DS was considering an academic degree this year I would be encouraging him to take a gap year I think, but I get the impression that performing arts is totally different and can be very fickle. If you turn down an offer this year at their top school who’s to say they will be offered a place next year?!

Yep I think it's a very tough one - with a lot of the colleges offering deferrals then it could be tougher next year to get funding if indeed as much will be available due to the pandemic and also due to Brexit so as tough it it may be doing blended learning which seems to be the current recommendations from the colleges I think it might be riskier to wait another year particularly with the performing arts but I'm torn too - it's a tough one alright
