That's great news. My DD was invited to an audition for 50% scholarship but, as we can't get a student loan for the other 50% we have had to decline it. She will probably try again next year in the hopes of getting full funding.

We have literally just received this via e-mail:-

"We are delighted to announce that we will now be offering BA(Hons) Performance in Musical Theatre and BA(Hons) Acting for Stage and Screen. We will also be running the Diploma courses concurrently with these. We are validated by De Montfort University, the degree course will be the same as the Diploma with the addition of further theoretical work.

There will be no student finance loans available for the 2016 cohort for the entire 3 years of training, we are currently in discussion with Career Professional Development Loans about whether it would be possible to access the CPDL for the degree course and we will let you know the outcome of that shortly.

We have heavily subsidised the cost of the degree course for this 2016 entry due to the fact that student finance is not an option this year at the degree will cost £10,300 per year.

Therefore ANY student is able to be transferred to the degree if they fit the following criteria:

a.You are over 18
b.You fulfil the entry requirements of 240 UCAS points or equivalent.
c.The Degree is affordable for you £10,300 per year (without student finance).

You are of course more than welcome to still do the Diploma course as we will be running both courses together."

If you meant full funding at PPA the most they offer is 50%. When I was speaking to them about funding last year they mentioned that they had a student that was self funding her training by working evening and weekends. DS would certainly be able to work to pay 50% fees, but we are close enough for him to live rent free at home. A career development loan would also be an option to fall back on.

The full cost of the degree for students starting in 2017 will be in the region of £13,000 a year according to DS who has recently auditioned there.
