It's only one stop on the tube or a bus ride to Angel from Kings Cross and then no more than a 10min walk to Urdang.
My DS finished his audition at 4.30. His girlfriend also finished that early if that helps ..... both have been offered places. They did say allow until 6.30 though.
Lots of lovely shops/ coffee shops on Upper Street and very nice cafe at Sadlers Wells just next to Urdang.
Hope all goes well

Hi Showtunes, fingers crossed for your dd, such a stressful time, will be good to know exactly what to prepare for for September. DS still waiting on Manchester Met recall result, they said 10 to 15 days, it's day 15 today. He eventually got his preliminary audition date through for the regional audition in Cardiff for 28th March, also has Bristol Old Vic in a couple of weeks and RADA in April

Just noticed in my previous post I didn't put what the prelimary audition in Cardiff was for, it's GSA! Thanks Sapphire, yes wish Man Met would let him hear either way, oh well, suppose if they do eventually get into the business they will have to get used to waiting for news.
Good luck to everyone with their auditions.

Hope your Ds hears today nigelben, Long 15 days wait for you. Fingers crossed he gets good news. We now have to wait up to two weeks to hear about dd audition yesterday.
Is your Ds wanting to do acting at GSA? If so I hope his audition is a little more lengthy than the mt audition!

As we're on the subject of waiting for audition news. Does anyone have any experience of Birds College?
Audition was on Feb 19th and still waiting to hear. Do you think it's okay to call them - very difficult to make decisions when you don't have all of the results - especially when other colleges give deadlines for returning registration forms.
DS currently has 4 offers for MT - Urdang, Performers, Cambridge Bodyworks and Millenium. Waiting to hear from Birds and London Studios and Laine audition is not until the end of the month. The change in DADA funding rules means we can't get any (!) and this is all totally new to us. Are you in any better position when you have multiple offers - does anyone have any experience of trying to see if there is any chance of trying to get a private scholarship?
I'm reluctant to send off multiple registration forms - and the cheques that go with them. To date have only accepted Urdang as that is the absolute favourite.
Any experience, advice would be most welcome .....

Well done to your dd. She obviously made a good impression! Will she accept the place do you think, or does she have other options she would prefer.

Hi Jessnat22
DD is in the first year at Bird........they are fantastic, but not the best at admin!! After she auditioned (Mid December) they took forever to send out the letters - so she didn't receive her offer until the beginning of Feb!!
You can try calling them (I did) and they will tell you when the letters are due out, but they do take longer than the other colleges (it might be because they tell you about funding straight away...so you don't have to go back for a funding audition).
Congratulations to your DS though, fantastic offers so far!!
Good luck with the decisions!

Thanks very much - that's reassuring. We had heard their admin isn't great. I may well give them a call. The additional advantage to Birds apart from the obvious - reputation and training is their degree.... DS could then access the student loan. We loved the feel of the place as well, seem to genuinely care. Great that your daughter is enjoying it there.
Do you know how many do they have in a year at Birds? Urdang is still the favourite of DS at the moment - but it is a big year group - DS thinks that is a good thing - would really motivate him to work hard to be seen.

I think Bird are renowned for their bad admin!!
It is quite a big year group at Bird too! There are 88 students split into 4 groups of 22 (15 girls, 7 boys in each). The groups are streamed by tap ability first, but then they are streamed separately for ballet.
DD absolutely loves it there, she decided that was where she wanted to go after seeing the students perform at Move It a few years ago, (she loved Urdang too, (the studios are amazing!) and she would have been happy to go there but she opted out of the funding audition after her Bird offer came through).
They really do care about the students, and seem to have a great relationship with them. Sadly, DD was badly injured in October (volunteer gardening, not dancing!!) and is only just getting back to classes...but the staff have been brilliant.
Good luck with whatever you choose!
