Arts Ed do the BA degree so not sure what you mean by "foundation degree". They do the foundation course too.

http://www.hca.ac.uk/courses/extended-d ... g-arts.php

Hereford college of art do a level 3 extended diploma age 16+ (free) which includes singing dancing and acting and aims to prepare for application to degree courses. It is a specialist arts college. It's a nice college, it is possible to arrange accommodation if necessary. I know of it because eldest DD is going to study art and design there in September. It is only for art and performing arts. Students have been successful in gaining places at decent colleges afterwards. Hope the link works.

Foundation Degree is the first 2 years of a degree (it has replaced the old HND), it is Level 5, so student finance is available. It is a stand-alone qualification but can be 'topped-up' to a full degree by completing the 3rd year at a different uni/college. hth :-)

Worth noting that Stella Mann does the Diploma but I don't think they have DaDAs. Ofsted rated them level 3 - only levels 1 and 2 qualify for DaDAs (unless this has changed since last year...?)

All the DaDA schools are listed here but not all are musical theatre:

SLP College in Leeds are on there, they do the Level 6 Diploma in musical theatre, not sure whether they do a dance strand too.

Sorry Katymac forgot to say that Birmingham Ormiston (BOA) is 16+ and there are no fees for 16 year olds for the level 3 course. It is a 2 year course.

Hi all,

I think Katymac is doing a terrific job here, gathering all this information. =D> =D>

Obviously getting into their desired course though auditions and applications at the right time is best, but what if a DC didn't get sufficient grades at GCSE in order to get into the local college/school to do Sixth form qualifications in performing arts? Our sixth form has high expectations and DD wants A levels before deciding what to do next - and she isn't suddenly going to change her mind against performing. Perhaps I shouldn't worry ... [-o<
