Hi, I would just like to thank the contributors to this thread, for providing some useful information about the process of applying to these schools.

We as a family have just been through this process, and I was desperate for information at the start of it, and trawling the internet, there is not a lot of it around. So I followed this thread with interest over the past 8 months.

My advice to anybody considering applying for Purcell, Yehudi, Chets, or Wells - is do it, with an open mind, on the basis you have nothing to lose.

Do not worry too much about what pieces your child should play, if the panel see potential, they will advise you at first audition to change if necessary. They are looking for all sorts, and it really is potential they are looking for.

Grades are not important, I can vouch for this, as in our case - none had ever been taken, largely self taught - but the result was successful.
