I'm not an expert but I had read that Millenium has a fantastic consulting singing tutor, Mary Hammond who set up the RAM MT post grad, which is really well thought of.

DD is 18 - still has auditions for Bird and Performers. It seems best to take the full course over the Urdang foundation but she loves Urdang. Millennium just seems so under the radar, so really just want as much info as possible about the place before we make any decisions!

Performmum
DS loved Millennium at his audition - great feel about the place and we were both certainly impressed by the Directors. I think if you check the Directors all used to work at London Studio Centre before setting up on their own......I imagine in 2000.
Agreed a bit tired looking than other Schools - but its the training that counts and that certainly didn't bother DS. I spent a lovely day in Greenwich while he was auditioning and also found Woolwich very friendly.
If it helps - at Christmas we saw Michael Bournes Swan Lake and one of the male swans had trained at Millennium - all the others were from classical ballet schools. The name certainly appears in many programmes for West End Shows.
Good luck with the decision making and with the rest of the auditions.

Re: Lots of luck to all auditionees! & a place to put result
Thanks Jessnat22. That is really useful - will your DS take the place there? This was the only audition that I couldn't get to, so performdad took DD. This means that I wasn't able to get a feel of the place and have to rely on male perspective!
Re: Lots of luck to all auditionees! & a place to put result
Hi performmum - are Millenium pushing for an answer? If not I would wait until you have results of Bird and Performers too then weigh it all up
My only concern would be that your dd didn't get "the gut feeling" from Millenium and if you can afford Foundation at Urdang it may be worth it to increase her chances of a place there next year? Keep us posted and good luck for upcoming auditions

Re: Lots of luck to all auditionees! & a place to put result
Thanks suesmith, we just need to complete first part of registration this week and return with a holding fee, then hopefully they wont send the 2nd part which commits us too quickly. Urdang want a £500 holding fee for the foundation, we are hoping that takes a while to get here!
Its so difficult as no guarantees with Urdang for next year & she could end up in a similar position, but Urdang is her 100% top choice. We also have to self fund so the additional year makes it all very very expensive!!!!!
Next set of auditions this week and then a couple of weeks after, so then difficult decisions will need to be made. Wish we knew someone who was studying at Millennium - would really help to have an inside view!!

Why not start a separate thread? Asking for someone who attends?
Re: Lots of luck to all auditionees! & a place to put result
Performum...If this helps and as you are self-funding, my DD said that her group of auditionees were told that there was the normal DaDa funding, but that Millenium had access to bursaries as well.
Regarding Urdang Foundation, Robsmamma DD did that last year and was very successful and received several funded offers before settling at Laines this year.
So, lots for you to weigh up, good luck.

Re: Lots of luck to all auditionees! & a place to put result
DD got a phone call from Urdang today following her funding recall yesterday. They offered her the diploma with a DaDA or the degree with the top-up bursary, gave her the choice!
Now she has a difficult but exciting decision to make, Bird or Urdang... I'm really proud of how well she's done and so pleased her hard work is paying off

Re: Lots of luck to all auditionees! & a place to put result
Very well done to your dd carriecrafts, what a lovely position to be in to have to choose between two great colleges. My dd did her recall audition for the diploma on Friday not heard anything and knowing you had a phone call thinking it must be bad news for a dada, not that she was really expecting one as she said the talent was amazing in her group.

Re: Lots of luck to all auditionees! & a place to put result
fab news carriecrafts - well done to your dd, I'm sure whatever decision she makes will be the right one for her
Hopefully your dd will get good news too Megmar610

Re: Lots of luck to all auditionees! & a place to put result
Thanks but won't hold my breath waiting
Has your dd made a decision where she is going suesmith?

Re: Lots of luck to all auditionees! & a place to put result
It's all so scary & undecided
I really can't wait until we all know what we are doing
Congratulations Carrie, fingers crossed Megmar

Hi Megmar610 - yes have accepted Diploma at Laine which was her first choice so very lucky girl and very excited
We are just outside Dada eligibility but have applied for Laine Scholarship/Bursary no idea how it works or whether we will be recalled but anything they can offer will be a help
How many recalls are you waiting for? X

Re: Lots of luck to all auditionees! & a place to put result
She has laine recall later in April. Has been offered places at performers, bird as well so waiting to hear about dada's from them. Did your dd audition anywhere else or just laine?
