Katymac,
Ah I see what you mean do you know how many they give out or is it just say a pot of money that they work through so depending on how many better off parents there are who pay more towards cost of fees means there could be more DaDas given out?, I spoke to a student from 3rd year on Thursday who said there were 25 approx in his year and said he beleived there was 22 in 2nd years he wasn't sure about 1st years
I hate the not knowing, can't imagine how you have coped, having done this all late year think i would of had a nervous breakdown doing 2 years in a row

I think I did have a bit of a break down - it has been awful
But I think they have between 20 & 25 so between £282k & £352K shared between 70 students equally is between £4k & £5k each so you can't look at it that way
The maths is complex & beyond my calculations & I'm pretty good at Maths - I think I asked a question on here last year about it

Speaking to the colleges I think it usually averages out between 20 to 25 that have dada funding of differing amounts each year. So I guess it depends on where you are on the list and who is above you!!
It's now a waiting game for all of us and I hope its sooner rather than later
Well done to your dd Katymac lets hope we have good news soon x

Katymac-Pearl
Do you think with the new banding the amount given out will change?

I think the colleges have the same pot of money but obviously the parental contributions have changed, I wouldn't think it will make too much difference to how many kids get help!

I'd heard that there was a massive increase in the number of people applying due to the change of banding
The lower incomes get more help and the 70-90 band is expected to be a high uptake
But that's just gossip!

We're waiting on Urdang funding result too! Such a painfully long wait, did your DC audition Sunday 22nd or the Saturday before? I spoke to some one on the phone from Urdang a couple of days ago to see when it was likely we would find out and they informed me of the following:
. DD could receive an email on Friday ( yesterday- which she didn't) that would mean they were still considering the offer and she would have to wait until after the next auditions to hear back from them.
or
. She will receive a letter on Saturday (today) or earlier next week with their decision!
I hope this helps a few anxious mums, dads and dancers out! My DD has been anxious all week because her friend who friend who was at the recall on the same day received a phone call informing him of his place on the degree- I guess they just give calls to a few of the exceptional ones who have other offers!
Good luck!
Thanks for the info dancingmoll, my ds had his recall on the 14th March.
Everything crossed hoping the postman brings good news next week x

I see that Urdang still have funding auditions in April and May.
Does anyone know if that means they won't start offering dadas until after that ?

Hello, I'm new to this so not sure if I'm writing this in the right place. We are just coming to the end of the stressful auditioning process (at least for this year). My daughter had her audion at Millenium on March 9th and we still haven't heard from them. I've called and emailed the college but they're closed for Easter. Has anyone else auditioned around that time that has/hasn't heard from them? Thanks in advance for your comments

Hi - have replied in other post but will do it here for others to reference from.
DD auditioned 9th March and heard 4 days later.
Remember distinctly as she was in the Bird audition when she received the email !!

Dd just heard she got into the Institute for the Arts in Barcelona - but there is no funding for that so she is unlikely to go

DD did funding audition on 14th March at Urdang and am about to BURST because they said results would be posted out within 2 weeks but nothing received. Is is possible post has gone astray? Or is everyone in the same boat and they are late informing attendees from both recalls (on 14th and 22nd)?

Have just THIS SECOND heard from Urdang - she is wait-listed for a DADA on the diploma and may hear within a further 2 weeks. She has already been offered the degree. Frustrating news. Check your emails!
