On the theme of great parts for boys, has anyone seen the Horrid Henry news:

Yes i read that also, sounds great though!
Afraid i dont have any news, although for some reason it reminded me of that film Madeline...and i imdb'd it, hardly any of the kids (including the girl who played madeline) continued acting. I wonder why not

Think there were some agency auditions for Horrid Henry early last week (boys & girls)

Yes, we were sent information about auditions for Horrid Henry. They had lots of roles, mostly boys but some girls too, Horrid henry and his friends are 9-10 years (need 7 boys altogether), Peter Perfect and his friends aged 7-8 (need 3 boys) and Moody Margaret and her friends (5 altogether) need to be 9-10 years old. it will be filmed in 3d for 8 weeks in the autumn. I have character descriptions but no other info.

I am pretty sure that is nearly all cast now. It starts filming next week.

Horrid Henry the animated series

A 3D movie based on the popular Horrid Henry children's books is in the works, it has emerged.

According to Deadline, production company Vertigo (StreetDance 3D) and Novel Entertainment are behind the picture, which begins production later this year.

Horrid Henry is said to be the most successful children's literary character in the UK behind Harry Potter.

Author Francesca Simon's books have previously been adapted for an animated TV series, a computer game and a stage show.

Filming is scheduled to start in October or November. No casting details have been reported.

I have been sent a breakdown for this, but as the dates clashed with holidays etc we didn't apply. I can't for the life of me remember where I got the info - must've been chiilkids, marlowes or starNow.
