What an expensive & stressful time for all with auditions/hotels/travel...daren't add up how much it's cost. Have sent off deposits to secure places at Italia Conti & Laine so far, now the wait!!
Good Luck to anyone waiting & let us all know your news.

Well done to all so far, so we have been so very lucky that my son has had offers from Italia Conti and Mountview BUT because they seem to be affilated to CDS academies we can't actually accept both which is a problem because he can only go if he secures a DADA but we have no idea which one , if any, will give him a DADA award. We should be able to wait for either but no. Anyone have any ideas how to solve this dilemma?

This does not affect schools outside of CDS like say Laines (not part of CDS) & a CDS academy so really this is a bit unfair
We will have to take pot luck soon and choose one over the other without knowing

Oh dear, what a dilemma... I don't know what CDS means, seems unfair though, we can only accept place if offered DaDa but numbers are so limited. Daughter accepted on 3yr courses in Musical Theatre at Laine, Italia Conti , Millennium & Performers now. Should have audition at Mountview but only done 1yr of 2 yr course BTEC so I don't think she would be accepted without enough UCAS points. Think can only stretch to deposits for 3 colleges anyway.

Good Luck to all waiting DaDa news again :)

Such a hard decision...can you not ring the 2 schools involved and explain the situation, maybe buy some time...
They must realise in these hard economic times that not all of us can afford to send deposits here there and everywhere....
Good luck

Any idea when we will hear about DadA's?

To Pixiebelle , CDS stands for the Conference of Drama Schools of which Mountview and Italia Conti are members, although Laines is not.
So they stipulate that you can only have one offer among their schools.

To Jasmine2
We at least know there will be DaDA's this year but if you are lucky enough to get one then you will only be funded for the full 3 years if you are under 19 in Sept this year.
Mountview says they will make their decision on who to award DaDA's on the 9th May. I do not know about the others yet but I would imagine they will all be around and about May.

We did speak to the to both and Mountview will allow us to apply for DaDA from them (not a full acceptance) while we have accepted with Italia COnti but if we don't get one my son will lose his place.

Good luck to all, fingers crossed for all of us

Good luck to everyone who is waiting for a DaDa. My DD has just been told that she has not secured a DaDA for Millenium so now just have to see if she has any more luck with Bird College, which is where she really wants to go. She has also been offered a place on foundation courses at Urdang and Performers and I was wondering if anybody thinks there is any point in paying for one of those courses given the fact that DaDA's may not exist next year and especially as my DD will be 19 by then?

Hi I am new on here, I would like to say that my daughter who turned 16 last week was awarded a DADA for both Laines and Northern ballet school =D> She will be accepting Laines. We are so very proud of her.

Well done to your DD Primrose!
Out of interest, do many 16 year old get DADas or do they tend to be given to the older pupils?

Well done to your dd Primrose.. :D

my dd has been offered a foundation course at Bodyworks in Cambridge and 3 year dance diploma at a local college to us...still undecided as to which one to do, but are heading more towards the 3 year diploma....

Also offered Arts Ed, but without funding we had to turn it down..
Good luck to all those still waiting for news.
