Re: Anyone had experience of scoliosis?

Hi, dd is much better now thank you, 5 months after her op. Her spine is good, a bit of pain initially but she just had to get used to moving differently. She can't do any contact sport for a year, but can now go swimming and cycle. She looks much straighter and has got used to bending her spine all in one go, using her knees to bend, but cannot twist. Her brace came off in March, but wasn't really any trouble. She is being investigated for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but I actually think it's a stress related illness as she is currently in the middle of AS levels and GCSE's, and has missed so much school it has been impossible for her to catch up. That's the only thing I would do differently actually; it wasn't a good idea having her op in December of Year 11, I probably would have waited for the summer. The op itself has been very successful, and has gone without a hitch, so I wouldn't hesitate to advise others to have the surgery. Sending best wishes to you and your dd dabdab.
