My dd asked me to make a phone call in the end as she had sent 3 further emails and had no reply.
I rang on Wednesday and was advised that someone would get back to me.
Rang again today and was advised the same.
No one has called.
I explained that we would just like confirmation that they were able to view her tapes as there had been an issue with the first submission. I also explained that she had the interview on Feb 22nd.
I just think it’s a really poor show.
I know that these colleges are inundated with applications / phone calls etc but I find this so disrespectful.
My dc received several offers last year and she chose the college that she not only got the best vibe off but also treated her fairly and respectfully in all her communications with them .
I fear that auditions are just a money making exercise for many colleges and one would wonder if they even view half the videos that are sent in to them.
Personally , I wouldn’t consider sending my dd to a college that ignored emails and phone calls because that’s likely to be the same treatment she will get as a student
Yes I agree...We personally haven't felt the communication at Urdang was as good eg £36.00 to do the taster day instead of free like the others and we were entitled to a free audition place yet had to go through hoops to obtain the refund...I think you get a vibe for how the colleges feel about the students because of their communication. (But of course everyone's experiences are personal and different). Laine are well known for poor admin however that is no excuse. They should be aware how difficult this year has been for auditionees and show more care towards their responses. Wilkes responded quickly and virtually offered place in the interview and Performers have been nothing but helpful offering extra QA sessions and info via social media. So I think although you can't always visit these are things people can base decisions on so they are doing themselves no favours in reputation.

We had a similar experience last year with WIlkes - lost count of the number of phone calls and emails trying to obtain info. In the end I gave up and DD didn't even submit audition as it just put us off, which was a shame as I had seen such positivity about the college on this forum. I hope you hear soon.

We know someone else had a very different experience to us at Wilkes and had to chase as had no response after a month and was told it's because they are on their wait list. If they hadn't queried it though they'd never know that .... I think they are all obviously overwhelmed but personal experience based on replies (or not) can't help but sway how you feel.

I think we all deserve a glass of vino for getting them to the eventual finish line!

Unfortunately I found the exact same with Laine last year - I emailed numerous times left voicemails etc and never got responses - I understand they are busy but I was left for months without a response in any shape or form - daughter ended up going to Performers where she got a DADA and absolutely loves it - you're daughter will be happy with her decision - found the communication with Laine horrendous and put me off it completely.

Congrats to all your DC on their amazing offers! This forum has been so helpful to read lately so thanks for all the info you share!
My DD has been offered a place at Performers Birmingham. She’s thrilled but it’s difficult to know much about it when it’s new! Does anyone have any info they could share? For example, about accommodation? We’re planning on going to their open day on 23rd May and I’m hoping she’ll get a feel for it then.

Congratulations! Sorry as it's new I can't help much as probably accepting Essex campus! But good luck I am sure she will love it as it will be small and personal.

Such a shame as I don't know why it is so difficult to either explain they have mislaid the tapes or whatever reason or just give an outcome.
Although not heard any No's?? I imagine they are struggling to compete with degree funding and have to offer a lot of places and then sort all the dadas.
We know a boy that was waiting over a month and hadn't heard...he is very good too!

Italia Conti degree recalls?

Has anyone heard anything since these happened a few weeks ago? One of DD’s friends had good news yesterday, she’s been offered the dance diploma along with a scholarship. However we’ve not heard anything re the degree recalls.

Congratulations Jo to your DD for her place at Performers Birmingham! Sadly I don’t know anything of them as they’re so new. Hopefully we’ll have others on this forum who have knowledge of their location and potential accommodation. All the best to her.

Thank you and the same to you! Waiting is so stressful especially when you can see others getting results. It shouldn’t be much longer, fingers crossed.
