Also hope you heard about your daughter @moonfaery
I rang again on Friday and then dd finally got an email to say the second tape she submitted had sound but not able to view!
Dd re-submitted again on a you tube link. She hopes this will work as it has done with other colleges.
Sarah carrol did say it wasn’t too late and they will look at it. Dd asked if she can confirm it can be viewed.
So we will wait and see if we hear back!
Oh my goodness, that is appalling!! How can it possibly take them so long? Isn't that since about mid Feb when she first submitted? I haven't entirely kept track of your DD but does she have other offers yet? I do hope so x

She can take out a postgraduate Masters loan for up to £11,222 no matter where she goes. That has to cover fees and living costs
Fees at the other institutions for their MA courses range from approx £14k-£16k. Because dd will be graduating with a Trinity Level 6 diploma there were limited places that would accept that qualification.
Associated Studios MA fees are at the lower end £14,500 however their audition feedback was that they loved dd and her voice but she wasn't quite ready to enter the MA so offered her their 1 year diploma course which costs £11k and will lead into their MA course. We feel that this feedback is pretty accurate given her age and the past year's training disruption. The deposit is 25% of the first years fees.
If all the others offered I think she'd take RCS based on finances alone. RAM would be very hard to turn down as its so prestigious but she's end up having to pay for extra dance classes outside the college to keep up her standard. It's highly unlikely she would be offered a place there. Associated Studios grew out of a professional development course. It was originally part time designed for working professionals who wanted a year of extra training or were in between contracts. Their full time courses deliberately run Monday - Thursday in order to maximise the students chances of getting a part time usually hospitality or retail job over the weekends.
My daughter has an offer for foundation, an offer for degree (but not course she wanted) and is on the reserve list for foundation at 2 other places.
Both reserves have said they will not be able to let her know until June/July.
One place (sixth form and gap year/foundation provider only) has said they do a 'mix' of the small numbers they take on their course as they don't want their students to al be suitable and vying for the same place the following year.
The other (well regarded drama school) daughter said has the best foundation of the lot, but by their own admission, it is not aimed at getting you onto a 3 year course the following year, it's aimed at making you a better actor (which in turn may help). Daughter says that's not what she's looking for as amazing as the course sounds, she wants to get on a 3 year degree. To me it sounds like something more suitable if you've done something different to a BA Acting at a drama school and want something to hone your skills. They've also said that if it's a No to daughter it's due to her age and to try again.
Daughter is taking the offer she has, rather than wait because if it's a No from them both then she'd left with nothing. She decided between the foundation and degree by doing a weighting of pros and cons one evening. By the following morning she'd got her conclusion, the only thing she thought the degree had was the name of who it was, for everything else the foundation offer came up trumps. (we had told her to take finances out of the equation though, it would be a different matter if we couldn't afford it)
From what you've put RAM is a prestigious name but doesn't quite give her the course content she requires or needs
RCS - The draw is the funding, does anything else appeal?
Royal Welsh - least favourite.
As an outsider looking in, I can see the appeal of Associated studios. Is it financially feasible, even if tight to do? Have any of them given an indication of when they'll have a decision.

The draw of RCS is that out of the them all it's probably the most triple threat. When she enquired before applying they told her that subject to her dance standard being high enough she may be able to take certain classes with their undergrad dance course alongside the MT classes. They were one of the only colleges to ask for dance as a major part of the audition (various exercises and a routine they sent to her to learn.) Royal Welsh did ask for a self choreographed routine. RCS wanted four songs & 2 monologues. RAM and Assoc Studios did not ask for any dance.
Her dance is strong having spent 8 years at The Hammond since the age of 11, however injury means she is now not allowed en pointe and she feels that lockdown has adversly affected her. Acting is probably her weakest area which she wants to work on. Two of the singing teachers at RCS also teach at Associated.

My daughter has a dilemma. She is more of an actor, applied for mostly straight acting courses. Was always aware it was a long shot as they often prefer the older applicant with more 'life experience'. She applied to Central. There you apply and they consider you for their 3 BA acting courses, didn't get a recall. Some time later they came back to her with 2 other courses they ran and would she like to be considered for either. She said yes to one of them (just to know more) had an interview and they've offered her a place (conditional on her UCAS points). The course is called performance arts and is about creating your own work.
Prior to this though she got an offer for foundation for acting from PPA (I know this isn't one discussed on here much) which we told her we could fund, thinking another year to try again and her be a bit older would be beneficial.
So here's the dilemma, accept Central because of the drama school it is and it's incredible she got in auditioning at only 17 even though it's not the course she initially wanted.
or take the PPA offer and try again a year later when hopefully maturity and extra training will help secure more offers, accepting nothing is guaranteed?
Her training at college has been heavily hit by the pandemic and staff absences. She got into NYT last year at first attempt, but that was a week online rather than the usual fortnight course. They're looking to do an additional in person week later this year to make up. So her applications have been very much her own work without much or any input from tutors.
Firstly, congratulations on 2 fabulous offers. If you accepted the foundation course, could it potentially be bumped up to a diploma or degree course, if other people don't take up their offers? Central is a fantastic offer though and could she possibly swap courses if a spot became available? It is maybe worth asking? Good luck on whatever you decide to do xxx Keep us posted x
Your prediction was correct. She's been offered degree. The email said that she'd been on the reserve list, she wasn't aware of this. We've spent so long thinking she'll be doing foundation and then applying to 'bigger' names next year, hopefully with better training than she's had this past 14 months and older, so has come as a bit of a surprise. Back to weighing up options. I'm glad my other one wanted to study computers - lol.

It's never simple is it?
Is the degree at PPA one that comes under student finance or not?

One thing I was going to mention by the way (I work in payroll) is that a couple of our staff keep a record of their personal mileage and pay it back to the company at a rate set by the government depending on the size of your car. Currently 10p per mile for ours. This gets the amount on their P11D down. (of course the cash equivalent value of the car still has to go on)

Yes, though I believe there's a small top up to pay too. (though nothing like we'd have paid for foundation year)

Husband did look into that, but travelling to and from work counts as personal mileage too (unless that's changed) and the head office he travels to each week for a couple of days is 100 miles away, so it didn't work out better for us, but thank you for the suggestion.

. We are also waiting to hear from
Laine about a DADA but I’m not holding my breath.

It appears that the system lost her RCS audition fee so she hasn’t even been considered yet. It’s been found & UCAS informed RCS yesterday but there has been no response yet. At the risk of losing her other place she’s accepted Associated Studios. It may be small and not as well known but we feel it’s right for her.
