Coco wrote:Helloooo again everyone ! Congratulations to everyone who's got in ! We took our dd up for her audition last saturday afternoon (26th) and we're haven't heard anything yet unfortunately. I think perhaps we would have heard by now if she was going to get in. On the positive side though, my dd really enjoyed it and said she met some really nice and amazingly talented performers ! She said that unlike some auditions she's been too over the years, every one was reaaally good! I noticed how sweet all the kids were, as they were being so supportive of each other while they were waiting to do their individual piece, wishing each other good luck and reassuring those still waiting when they came out. What a super lot of kids, I thought, and I spoke to some really nice parents too ! I hope we won't have to wait too long now before we hear !!
Hiya

My three kids auditioned at different times with abacus and the length of time we waited to hear went from 6 days to 2 weeks I think.

Good luck, they are all really lovely ladies at Abacus.
:D

Thanks lilacspanishsun. The ladies did all seem very nice and the whole thing was so well organised too. I was impressed that they had even worked out who would have had the longest journeys and saw people in order! It meant that we had to wait until close to the end of the list, but that was fair. I was amazed at how far people had travelled. We had a journey of about an hour, but a couple of famililes had come three hours or so. The things we do for our kids !

my ds didnt get accepted onto their books :(

did anyone else dc audition for them and not get accepted?

i think he is going with chilli kids who seem good, so onwards and upwards, they gave him some lovely feedback at the bottom of the letter which is encouraging, as i am assuming they wouldnt have bothered to do if they thought his audition was terrible!

the same old story that we heard from A&J, good potential, just not quite ready, i just think his attention wanders sometimes!

looking forward to signing him up with chilli kids, i hope that works out as it may get him the experience he needs to be able to concentrate better!

Oh I am sorry to hear that Sophiesocks - but like you say - he must have done well or they wouldn't have written the feedback - they are very straight with their advise so take their praise of him as a good thing. Abacus only have a tiny number in each age group so it could be that there was less of a gap to be filled in his age group - which, if I remember rightly, is a similar age to my ds. My dd's got turned down a couple of years ago and they went on to do well with another agent - so there are still plenty of chances to be had. I know people who have had some great jobs with Chilli Kids - so could be he will do just as well, or better, there as he would have done with Abacus.

Lots of luck to him xx

thank you janine and miss moneypenny,

i was disheartened for him at first, but he has never even asked if he got in, he is rather a live in the moment sort of kid! he has an audition with D&B in may, and is seeing bonnie and betty in april, and i think i will get in touch with cs management.

 and they think they work hard when they are acting, if only they had a clue how hard we work in the background!

Sorry to hear the news from Abacus wasn't what you were hoping for. Sounds like there are plenty more opportunites in the pipeline for your DS though, so wishing you good luck with them.

I'm sorry too sophiesocks. Does sound like he got some really positive comments though and he's only very young, so I'm sure it won't be long until he's on the books of another one. I've said to my dd, don't forget that the Beatles were turned down by one agent. Good job they never gave up !
