I think it can vary depending on the practice - not just doctor's for prescriptions but also the dentist. Our doctor's practice told us that the 16-18 in full time education in theory meant further education and not higher education. The dentist on the other hand did not charge up to the age of 19. Both the doctor's and the dentists did however give us a form and told us that as a student on a low income DD could apply for free prescriptions and dental care through the National Health Low Income Scheme - the form is a HC1 or 2 - sorry I can't remember which. We never went down that route as the dentist was not charging her and she had no need for a prescription but I would certainly suggest asking at your doctors or dentists if your DC are going to be charged for prescriptions or treatment.

You can get a form for low income from your Dr' s or a chemist. They have to reapply every year but gives you free prescriptions, dentist and glasses!

I spoke to the pharmacy - everyone no matter what course they are on get free prescriptions until the day before they are 19; after that they need a form & will still get them free as on a low income

My DD too was offered a place on the LSC degree course on 28th August.

It's all been manic trying to decide what to do, this was her final attempt at auditioning and the only audition she decided to do this year, so she is very excited.

The search is on for accommodation now, trying not to panic too much.

Well done to your daughter.

Well done to your DD too. It's very exciting but I must admit I can't wait until everything is finally sorted. I will speak with my DD tomorrow and see if she has any ideas with regard accomodation. Xx

Thank you Losingtheplot, we would appreciate that.

We put her name on the Chester House waiting list yesterday. So we will have to wait and see.

It is very exciting but like you I can't wait for it all to be sorted and we all know where she's going to be, I mean I know this is all last minute but I don't want it to be really last minute.x

Nope - not yet.
DD has already joined after college classes and she's only been there 24 hours !!
