i emailed them asking for news and didn't get a response, i knew ds hadn't got it from talking to irishdancer, but if i hadn't heard from her then i wouldn't have had a clue, i am not very impressed, they asked ds back for a callback after school he was told it didn't matter if he came at 7pm instead of 6.30pm and then missed a big chunk of the audition, didn't see him till last even though he was one of the youngest children there and then didn't bother giving us any feedback or even responding to me email. i think we ought to make a nap list of cd's who are likely to be difficult so at least we know what to expect....

Don't worry even though ds got Down to the last few they did not even get back to me to tell me ds had not got it had to email them to ask got a message back to say they would def call him again I def wouldn't let ds audition for them again. They advertised on KCCP as a payed short film £50 a day not much but something then they advertised on Starnow thought it was the same ds went to 1st audition I thought it was the same, on the way home looked at Starnow and it sAid no Payment, got a email to say that ds had a recall they would give us a date later I emailed back to say that I was going to pull ds as I thought it was a paid job, got a email Back to say that they would give me chaperion money wish we had never gone to recall they saw too many kids for a recall would love to hear from some one who's ds got this to see if they are going to pay them. It's not on to advertise on 1 site as paid and the On the next as no payment

That is really awful - to have ignored your emails sophie socks is just rude :( I think it is such a shame that some people work like this - was it a student film? I do feel that the people who train them should really spend a little longer just teaching them how to deal with youngsters (and parents), as we have had so many occasions where it has just not been professional - such as not knowing about licences/working hours / not looking after the kids generally etc. Sorry that neither of you got the role, but sounds like it was probably a blessing in the end - doesn't sound like they have got the kids best interests at heart! x

No not a student film they have funding for it so got money to spend but don't think they felt that the children where worth spending money on well that what it looks like, said they have to get period props which was going to cost money so paying for that and not the kids.

I think you may well be right missmoneypenny, I hope the children who are cast get treated better.

I have a feeling these short film makers get a bit big headed because so many people contact them through there adverts to ask to be seen, so think they are more important than they really are, there are so many people making short films now, some of them are not that good, they just run away with there own importance the film is there baby and nothing not even the young actors matter to them it's just the film that matters, have decide that as ds has a very good cv and at the moment dose not really need to do any short films at the moment will not put him through this process again, might decide in a year or so he needs to do a short film to put a bit more on his Showreel but it will be us using them not the other way round. I am hearing more and more bad things about students getting in touch with parents about bringing there ds and dd up to audition and when they get there after paying triveling all across London only to be told that there dc did not get the part as they did not have the right look when it was them in the first place who saw the dc photo and Showreels think they just want to get the experamce of auditioning, I would have thought looking at
photos and Showreels would be enough but no.
