Birthday Coming up...

O.k so this is a bit of a strange one really, but I'm kind of stuck and hoped that someone might be able to help (hope i'm posting this in the right place... :? )
My 16th birthday is coming up soon and I was thinking that I should ask for something that will help me acting wise. I was thinking about Starnow membership, dance lessons (ballet/ tap), Stage membership etc. I have been interested in all 3 for a while but my parents don't really know much about acting and they don't like dishing out money for subscriptions to anything (!), especially when there are rumors going around that it is a scam (In the case of starnow),
So I was hoping some NAPM members would be able to say what would be better value for money if any.
Thanks a lot

If possible I would find a local drama group with a good name and ask for the fees for one year/term/half term depending on how much they can afford. Or a company like Rare Productions which charges per show. If you want to learn dance as well, choose a group that does more musical theatre, it will usually incorporate dance to a certain level.

If dance is more your thing then a dance class might be the better option.

IMO subscriptions are better left till you have some experience, then you will have photos/exams /videos to add to a website like Starnow.

Thanks Igloobabe :D
Although I should have made my self a bit cleared I suppose (and spelled 'coming' right :? )
I already do drama classes and signing and shows etc and have done for many years. I now have an agent but I wanted to make myself more attractive to CDs and maximise my job oppertunities, so I was wondering if it would be better to do more practical stuff or subcribe to a site where i may get more jobs oppertunities. I was just thinking that as I have an oppertunity to do one of these, I wanted to know what would be better value for money (as i have credits to add to online CV sections of websites etc.)
But your advice about dance/MT has helped me as I do think that I would like to dance (I'm really not that good at the mo) and Musical theatre sounds fun because it encorperated sining and dacing,
Thanks again,

If you don't have one-to-one singing lessons already then they would be a good idea. Even just a few can make a difference.

That's what I would have suggested Welsh Mum. My dd has just started private singing lessons and after only 6 lessons we can hear a great difference in projection and quality. and the breathing techniques etc she has already learned will be with her for life.
