Successful audition, but problem

Hi, my son, and all of us, are so pleased - he experienced his first audition this weekend and was offered the part! He's playing Kurt in The Sound of Music at a local theatre next May. The only problem is that I've booked him on a course over the Easter holidays which leads to part in a show at the same theatre, two weeks earlier . He did this course last year and it was so exciting to appear in his first theatre show. It's not just a kids' course - the main cast will have been rehearsing for months and the kids appear as ensemble, but he was given a nod and a wink that a few lines may come his way next time.
The Easter show involves 8 consecutive days of rehearsals, followed by 3 shows spread over 4 days. Sound of Music rehearsals are weekly for 6 months but will become more intensive closer to the show dates, which start 16 days after the last of the Easter shows. Two of the Sound of Music rehearsals are on the same day as the Easter show rehearsals, although I don't think they clash. And then there are several more rehearsals for SoM in those 16 days.
Max is a very hard worker and loves everythign about rehearsals and performing, but I wonder if I've taken on too much, on his behalf. I don't want the Easter course to affect his performance in The SOund of Music, which I see as the bigger deal. I can't get a refund for the the course.
Has anyone elses child done something similar? Any advice? Thank you!
