I was just wondering if anybody would mind taking a look at this website to help me better understand exactly what they do?
http://www.garyjohnnorman.com/garyjohnnorman/info.html

"We create exceptional visual content across print and digital media, for a global client base, personally committed to producing innovative work that is creatively led." Does this mean that they act as a sort of 'middleman' between clients and agenices that provide say actors, models and photogrpaher, stylist etc?

It also says "A background in photographic realism has enabled us to develop our research of cross-platform and post-production technology to offer inventive results. We collaborate with dedicated team who offer specialist skills and industry experience." So am i right to assume that they are photographers that now also use their expertise to offer a service as middlemen? Or do I misunderstand?

I am just a little confused as they also have a page of models/actors and also photographers. And I saw an ad on gumtree advertising for models or actors of any shape or size for a test shoot. I don't think I am questioning the legitimacy of what they do, but as I have never come across an 'agency' of this sort so I dont really understand how it functions, if that makes sense? And I dont know if by aplying to be one of their models/actresses I would be going against my own agent (only acting) althouh I have never signed any sort of official contract with my agent.

Sorry about my ramblings, I just thought id ask if anyone else has a better understanding than myself. :) thanks!

Hi xebonykissesx

I've had a look at the website and it looks as if they are just photographers, but rather than being commissioned to take pictures, they create their own photos that are sold either to, or via, stock image libraries. I suspect that they will always be looking for new models that they can use to create different images (they won't want to be using the same models all the time, otherwise their images will become too "samey"!!).

Does that help?

Yes that does help felixgirl thankyou :)
I just wondered also because it said that if you have a successful test shoot then they will discuss hourly and daily rates for future work :? So would you assume that this means that instead of just going through agents they hire models and actors and pay them directl?

They have also asked me to go for a casting at their home/office. I have every intention of bringing someone with me, but would you say that this would be normal in regards to the sort of business that they are, to conduct the casting or test shoot in this way?
