I am 17 years old soon to be 18. I have recently been invited to audition for a touring production of cats and the static west end production of The lion king. As im sure you can tell these are 2 amazing oppurtunities. My mum has always been very supportive and encouraged for auditions but no has decided she doesn't want me to audition. does anyone know i can persuade her to allow me to audition? PLEASE HELP!! many thanks

Try to find out why exactly she doesn't want you to do this. Does she want you to continue your education? Or is she worried about you moving away from home? Until you know her reasons you will not be able to try to change her mind. Talk to her.

I agree, she needs to give her reasons and discuss it with you, then maybe we can help? x

have to go along with the other posts on this - because if it involves missing any important exams or just missing school/college time, I can understand why she'd not want this to take up your time, or is it because she's concerned about travel, cost, or the touring arrangements, where you'd be staying etc.? If it was my dd I'd want to know all what would be involved in touring, where you'd be staying etc.

Hi guys just to let you know ive sorted it out. Mum didnt want me to audition as it would clash with college but she agreed that if i spoke to my college tutor about it and she agreed then i would be allowed to audition and as my college tutor has said yes i will be attending the auditions xx

Hi ET1994 thumbs up that you can go to these auditions Is it the Cats German tour audition? I'm thinking of going to that too!
