DD went to the Her Benny auditions this morning in Stockport and was told she got in. She left the theatre about 25 mins ago and dh has just had a phone call asking them to go back to the theatre.

Any idea what might be happening from anyone who has done it before or who went?

Well she's up for the part of Nell. Bit of confusion over whether it is definate or not. Dh seemed to think it was a recall, dd said she was told she is sharing role with one other.

She has song and script to learn and has to go back in April.

Well done to your DD islandofsodor for getting through the first round of auditions. A lovely production to be part of. There are quite a few NAPMs who have been involved Her Benny or Our Benny (2008). :D

Congratulations to your DD. \:D/ \:D/ At some recent venues they have told the younger children playing benny, eve & nell on the day of 1st round auditions & older children have been told they had a role but had to go back a couple of months later to finalise exact roles. They did have 2 nells & 2 eves, if that helps. Though Personally I would contact them for clarification, as different venues seem to have a slightly different process..

DD thinks she is a definate Nell then there is another girl who they can't decide between Nell and Eva. There is another Eva then she said they couldn't decide between 3 for Sniffer. She is not sure about the other roles as she said she spent most of the afternoon working with the other potential Nell.

Whatever happens she is definatley in the show. We are chuffed and proud as we hoped she might make the ensemble, a main role would be fantastic.

My son,s benny in billingham.
The production company come every week and support learning until the week before the show when rehearsals increase.
The staff seem really kind and supportive. The show music is lovely and the story is very emotive. Costumes are provided and there are even school learning packs available if required along with CDs of the music etc.
I can't recommend this production and company highly enough.
I hope your child enjoys the experience as much as mine is doing at the moment.

All the best to your son Paulad. Not long now til Billingham.

You don't happen to have the sheet music for the Firelight song at all. dd was taught some of it at the audition and she has been given a backing CD to learn the song for April but we are having trouble working out the tune for the middle bit as there is no vocal guide track.

I've googled and I can't find a recording of anyone doing it anywhere.
