Look forward to reading the replies as we would also be looking for my DD who is a year younger & going into Yr 9.
We're a long way away so would need boarding but don't want to hijack your thread !
Just wondered if it were feasable aged 14 - 15 ?

Best thing would be to contact the schools you are interested in.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a website that lists Drama / secondary schools for performing arts, that would be helpful as I'm having a total mind-blank about the names of the schools nearest to me. All I can find is 'Saturday schools' or education for 16+.

I suspect you're cutting it a bit fine for entry in Septemer 2012 - certainly for full time education. I don't know any database but some performing arts schools that come to mind for those ages are Tring Park, Italia Conti (London?) and the Brit School (Croydon) Sylvia Young? You would need to contact each school to see where you stand re applications. Good luck.

Don't know about the others 2dancersmum but The BRIT is way too late - the applications have to be in the November before (ie 2011 for 2012 entry).

Livy2 you could try Susi Earnshaw's http://www.susiearnshaw.com/ they are in Barnet & Susi has kids starting in most years up to Y10 I think (dd is in Y10 now - been there since Y6 - loves it!)

Hi there,
My DD's at a performing arts school now and has just moved up to the upper part of the school this year therefore with a lot of new students starting she's been told a few experiences of her friends! One friend started at corona theatre school in year 11, stayed for a year then got in to DD's school , another auditioned for barbara speak for year 11 stayed for a year then moved , while two other friends started at Italia Conti - one at year 9 the other year ten! :) These all happened by personal appointments - not by the usual audition workshops at years 6/7 entry therefore it's not impossible to start this year , you need to contact them and be put on a waiting list , if they have a place they will contact you - for an audition :) DD also met a girl who started arts ed in year 9 - she was on a waiting list , auditioned and managed to get in - with a scholarship ! :) Best of luck Xx
