Hi, my daughter went for a casting yesterday and her agent called today to say that out of the 15 girls my daughter is the only one 'pencilled in' for the principle role. Could any one give me some insight as this was her 1st casting audition and we won't know till wednesday for deffinate if she had the job. :-/
Thank you x

sounds like a great start well done to her, i would try not to think about it and be proud that she was put on pencil, if she actually gets the job fantastic :) i try to just enjoy each stage as it happens and onto dwell too much on what might or might not happen next as you can drive yourself crazy that way! but it definitely sounds very positive, good luck :)

Great advice from SophieSocks, all I would add is make sure all your documents are up to date so you can apply for the licence as soon as possible if it is good new

Thank you both. I know I'm really trying to forget about it. I think if I understood or had more experience with it I would be fine. She's done many theatre productions but this is totally out of our norm. Just in total shock when her agent called today as it was her 1st time. Her agent said he was very excited about her being the only one pencilled in.
Thank you for your advise. Much appreciated :-) x

Sorry panda. As she only joined the agency a few weeks ago, so has everything in place as she's issued a licence for six months then we renew it. It's just so exciting :D even if she doesn't get this one the fact she really enjoyed the whole experience makes it worth while. X x

Congrats to your DD, if she has a 6 month open licence as it sounds like she does then she is in with a much better chance than most others on pencil.... a huge issue for tvc's is the short turn around and many kids cannot get licences issued in time, especially this week with their being 2 bank holidays.
So, thank the lucky stars for you LEA being one of the few sttill to issue open licences and keep your fingers crossed it all works out. If not for this one then it certainly will for others as some jobs only book open licenced kids if there is only a day or two's notice :)
If only we were all so fortunate :)

Thanks cops 22 yeah she is licensed for 6 months and then we have to renew it. Her agent told us she is the only one on pencil and will be confirmed on Wednesday. Do you think that's because they will be seeing other kids over the bank holiday? X

It probably means she is the only one pencilled from her agency quite often they pencil quite a few kids from all over the place and then if the first choice can't get their licence in time they go down the list.
You have a very good chance with that open licence, I know our guy is off all week so no-one from our LEA will get a job this week!!!
Fingers crossed :)

I do know that 15 of the girls who auditioned from a local school haven't been chosen as I know the principal so that only leaves one other girl. Do maybe it's out of the 2 but I'm sure her agent said that she was the only one they had put on pencil from the audition. But maybe your right maybe he means from her agency but my daughter was the only one they sent. Oh well will have to wait and see. It just seems strange that if she was the only one in pencil wouldn't they just give it to her than making us wait till Wednesday? X

Good luck D.T.C.mum - there seems to be no rhyme or reason in this business, over time you just learn to sit back and see what happens - but when it all goes right it is a fantastic thing! :)

Thank you. Yeah I know just wished I had listened properly to what her agent did say lol. Think I was just in shock. I'm going to try and forget about it till Wednesday. It just seems totally different to the theatre world in which were used to. I think it would have been better not to know until the final decision Had been made but guess its better for them to make sure were available. Oh well the wait goes on x

My oldest ds went for a audition to go to Gemany got a call from agent to say that he was penceled in was the only one penceled in so if he did not get it they would be really Surprised we got a call the next day to say he got it so they do only pencel in only 1 child really strange if they are only penceling in 1 child why not book them but then that is show business a law onto them selfs
