Sorry cant help, my son only has experience of RAD so far... Maybe you would be better posting on a ballet forum as they are likely to know all there is to know about such a specialist subject...

Hi Letitshine, I wouldn't worry, the ballet girls in Billy do a specific style. From what my dd said, they dance the ballet 'angrily' in the audition. Don't forget that although the ballet girls are very talented dancers, their role is to ballet dance badly to show the contrast of Billy. xxx

balletcoforum recently had a thread asking about russian methods versus other methods (page 3 currently) and I'm sure you will find it an interesting read and it will answer many questions for you. Bear in mind, however, that as you say no one method/syllabus is superior to the others and it is unlikely to have any importance in an audition as it is more the ability to pick up steps quickly and demonstrate/perform them that an audition panel will look at.

my son does russian ballet and does not do formal RAD exams however him and a girl from dd school go to Central School of ballet as associates and it has not hindered them - I think russian method is slightly more expressive - you cant see a difference at festivals and kids there seem to do all sorts of syllabus

After a lot of research and talking to different training company's I have found out the both are valid and it all comes down to the teaching, dedication and talent fit doesn't matter what kind of ballet you do.
