I wonder if he knows what you are talking about as I can see no reason why he wouldn't sign? In our practise we can get the nurse to sign. I always go in with the form filled in so all the have to do is sign and stamp - they get paid for it so no reason not to do it. If you get no joy then I would call the LEA and ask them what you can do. Good luck and hope she has fun! x

if the doctor does not feel comfortable putting his name to a status of health, he/she must be one of those fearful of making a mistake type doctors. I used to go parachuting as a hobby, and all it really asks is if he feels I could survive an impact similar to jumping off a 6ft high fence. He looked at me, called me an idiot and signed - then told me to lose some weight because I looked over the weight limit, but didn't actually weigh me. I think he didn't because then he probably would not have felt he could sign.
Most practices just take the money - hardly a sympathetic practice by the sound of it!

I work for a GP and in my experience if a GP is that arrogant, all you can do is move surgeries, most GPS are pretty reasonable people!
How about your practice nurse?
Is she able to sign?
I sign a few in my surgery, it an be any primary care professional who knows your child.
However the sooner they abolish this crazy system the better!!!!

sounds very bizarre to me - can you ask to see another GP in the surgery or the practice manager?
