Is this normal?

Hi everyone, I just have a question about agents!
I recently signed with a new agency, and had them updated onto my Spotlight Profile exactly one month today! However since then they have not added me to their website or updated my Profile with my recent credits and CV. is this a normal amount of time to wait for that sort of thing to be updated? I don't want to sound pushy and ask them why they haven't done it incase they are in the process of doing it or they haven't had time etc!

They work for YOU, not the other way around. If they haven't added you by this time, it's a good indication they may not be a very good agent, or worse still, have taken you on a bit like a doctor's surgery with nearly full books - they took you on but hope you don't get ill!
You need to be on telephone terms with an agency, not annoying often, but they need to know you exist, and are serious. A month is just inefficiency, or a mistake. Call them up, be nice, ask if you need to send in the update again? If they fob you off - they're very unlikely to be spending their time putting you forward for work, are they?

It's in the agents best interests to promote you and get you work as this is how they earn their money (commission). They should have you on their site or explain to you why they have not done this. Also updating credits....some agents like you to do that yourself with your update PIN however again they should be keen to get credits on there as they help to 'sell' you. Agreed with Paulears....they are working for YOU. You need to be able to have a dialogue with your agent. I sincerely hope they didn't charge you (illegally) to be on their books! Let us know how you get on .

Do you think it would be worth me asking them for the update PIN and offering to update my CV myself?
I really hope they are as good as I initially thought they were - they don't actually have many people on their books! They didn't charge me to be on their books or anything - I've heard some really great things about the agency and I just hope that I don't get 'pushed to the back' or anything!

Hi Jellybabies
I think you just need to ask them politely when your details will be on their website - and Paulears idea of asking whether you need to send your details again is a good one.
Most CDs use Spotlight rather than the agent's own website though, so you're probably not missing out on any work because of that (they should still have got round to it within a month though).
Updating credits on Spotlight - that's a different matter in my opinion and needs sorting out urgently. My agent gets quite cross

if her clients don't keep their Spotlight pages up to date. I do think you need to do that and get a solution quickly. Are you an adult? If so, then an agent would normally expect you to update your own CV I would think. Check this out with your agent. Do you have a Spotlight card? This would have your update PIN on it. It is possible that the agent has just made an assumption that you would do this - unless you know that they have the update PIN and you don't.
On the other hand, do you know that they
haven't updated your Spotlight profile? Do you have the view PIN?
I understand not wanting to pester your agent, but the things you have highlighted are not pestering, they are to do with marketing you effectively - which is in the agent's interest as well as yours.

I agree with PG as long as you are on Spotlight agents web site dose not matter most agents who had every one on there web site don't any more, it's just another expensive to pay out to. As PG has said CD will look at Spotlight rather than agents web site. t
DS agent only puts clients on web site show had had lead roles in some thing big to show the named people they have on there books and photos of them on set, that's all that is needed.
