I am 14 but 5 ft9 is that too tall to act? Most agency's have said its fine but a couple have said that I'm perfect but too tall and to comeback when I am a bit older.
What do you think NAPM's???

Sounds perfect to me - I think with acting they are looking for a range of people. Too tall for musical theatre perhaps until you get towards the more adult roles - but certainly not 'too tall' to act. Go for it!

Hi cupcakes
No not too tall to be an actress. However 14 is a tricky age for many jobs. Usually you will find casting directors prefer an over 16 year old to play down to 14 as they then don't have to worry about licensing and restricting working hours. This is regardless of height. Most 14 year olds will struggle to get work for this reason.
As Cat says it is too tall for musical theatre as they rarely cast over 5ft and even tiny 13 year olds don't always get seen as they look too old in the face and body to be able to play right down.
You will be so grateful for your height in a couple of years I'm certain.
Good luck to you and keep growing!

A few years ago my son was chatting with a very well known actor and he mentioned that he was aiming to apply for drama school etc in the future. One of the comments this actor made was that he was extremely fortunate as he was tall (he is actually 6ft 3in) and that that would hold him in good stead in the future, so please don't worry about height. He is now following his dream and height is definitely a bonus for him.
