Am I reading too much into this?

Reminder - I'm in Australia, so anything you'll write I'll have to read upside down. So keep it simple.

When I was looking for representation for DD about a month ago I emailed a few Sydney CD agencies asking if they could recommend a reputable talent agency for DD. I included a link to her showreel and StarNow profile. I got a reply from most of them with suggestions and tips which was great.

One high profile CD never replied back BUT today he tweeted a #FF about ME?!! I don't have any links to my Twitter account for DD's acting things and I rarely tweet things about her as it's my personal Twitter account. I tweeted about her being in a music video about a week ago and linked to the video, but that's about it. I don't follow this CD and he doesn't follow me.

Anywayz, this tweet was obviously personally written because it was so specific to me (nothing to do with DD at all) and wasn't part of a mass #ff. Not a creepy comment, quite funny actually. Just raaaaaandom.

I'm quite miffed as to what it all means?! I can understand him maybe checking out DD's profile and deciding to keep the details on file (yay!) for future projects, but he has obviously done a bit of research to find me on Twitter (not hard, I'm prolific on the net, but definitely not a one click job) and then randomly decide to tweet a #ff for me.

I'd really appreciate thoughts/comments/dismissive eye rolls.

Could you put a link to your dds starnow page so we can see what Australian kids look like?

Why not reply to his tweet, thanking him for his ff. Then follow it up with an email asking if he has had chance to consider your previous email as you don't seem to have received a reply yet.

There's a possibility that he has replied but it's got stuck In the spam filter. If so, this will flush it out.

Hope this helps - let us know what you decide to do.

I think they look like this francescasmum:

If the tweet was not offensive Neeky, I think I'd be sort of flattered. Did it link in anyway to the subject matter of looking for agencies?

I'm only just getting to grips with twitter to be honest. It just seems like yet more internet noise. Isn't a bit of a here today, gone tomorrow sort of thing? I don't mean twitter, I mean this particular tweet.

I shall reserve judgement until you tell us more :D

More gossip/information please!

Oh thank you sophiesocks, i was begining to feel thick. I've just spent an hour firing questions at my ds about iPads as youngest dd want to buy one from her 'wages' and I haven't got a clue - he's sick of me now so has gone out to the pub with his friends, so I can't ask him about ff either!

Ladies it means follow friday.

The idea being that you tell everyone that follows you about the tweeters you have enjoyed following over the previous week. If you are happy to PM your usernames (except riverdancefan as I already follow you) I would love to follow you, :D

I feel pretty embarrassed that me, a teenager, didn't know what #ff and that one of you guys had to tell me (rather than the other way around!)

Aussie children must have very strong arms !!

as for the #ff I still don't quite get it - I don't tweet, and find the 'following' a bit stalky , unless you know the person  :-k 8-[ 8)

watching this thread for updates and for educational purposes on the 'tweeting game' - I think its going to be taken over by something else soon, so I heard from a tweeter who knows these things  gosh...I can't keep up, am only just starting to consider using facebook , i'm useless I think. Phone, texting and email for me I'm afraid

Man. I go to sleep for ONE night and a party happens without me on the otherside of the world!

Yes, as 2GirlsMum says, #ff is for Follow Friday. It started as an etiquette thing so people didn't spend all week promoting their friends, but also encouraged Twitter to grow by allowing people to say to their followers "If you like me, you'll LOVE so-and-so".

ForgetMeKnot aka Sherlock, it's a funny tweet, eh?! But as he doesn't follow me and I don't follow him, I'm miffed as to why he would do it. I don't tweet very often and my followers are just friends. I don't promote anything, my Twitter profile has nothing to do with acting - bizarre!
AND, why did he look me up? He would have had to physically type my name (would have taken days) into a google search or Twitter search to find me. And why me and not DD?

MAYBE HE WANTS TO CAST ME IN A BLOCKBUSTER ????!!!!! Even though I don't act, I'm on the wrong side of my 20s and the wrong side of normal weight range, and my nose is crooked (getting fixed in Sept) he obviously sees the xfactor that no one else has ever seen just from my thumbnail.

PG (We have the tips of your tea at home. Yum) that kid would have the nickname Bluey down here.
And the tweet was nothing to do with acting, casting, directing, film, tv, theatre and my account is nothing to do with those things either. It's about me personally and reading/writing fiction.

FlosMom i ended up replying back with something lame/witty so will see what happens. As for following up the email, hmm. I don't wanna be a PUSHY MUM! I doubt the reply got lost if there was one. Hmm. Once DD signs up officially with her agent (updated photos needed) i could email him to let him know she is now represented? He'll recognise my name as that's what the tweet was about.

FrancescasMum http://www.starnow.com.au/karinawarwick

Btw when I say high profile casting director, I mean SERIOUSLY high profile. Oscar winners, worldwide blockbuster movies etc.
Which is why I'm overanalysing it all and why I want to tread carefully. Esp as his tweet was a joke about my name (French first name, Polish 2nd name. Long. Lacking in vowels) which means he's sure to remember me, so I don't want to harrass him. Or be a PUSHY MUM!

I guess I'm hoping his mini-stalk of me means he thinks DD is someone worth putting in the "keep in mind" pile?

Update!
He just retweeted (like an email forward) my reply tweet.
So I quickly asked an inane question about choosing agents and will see if he replies...

I feel like a teenager.
"He pulled my hair, does he like me??? Like, really, really like me???"

Woooaaahhhh - :-k that's it .....he may have taken a shine to you - We're all ex-supermodels on here, of course, and all look much younger (about 20 years) than we are ...so he thinks YOU have the XFACTOR, (I wonder how many people have been cast via a 'thumbnail photo - loads I'm sure, and in blockbusters ). Perhaps don't get the nose done, or he may turn into a fully fledged stalker  he'll never leave you alone !
- or all of the above could be completely far out (   ) ..........
...- perhaps it would have felt bit odd adding your dd, because he can't follow or add a minor, so he's looked you up as parent instead, he went to lot of trouble though did he not.- all very curious, and curiouser :-$
