When's the best time of year to apply to agents?

Hi all, just something I've been wondering!
is there a time of year that agents are usually looking to take on new clients? I'm looking for a new agent in the near future, and was wondering whether there would be a best time to do it??
thanks!

Some agents open their books at a particular time - the best thing to do is your own research. Start a spreadsheet! Many agents don't do this though - they just consider applications throughout the year.
I would recommend avoiding graduate showcase time - when agents will be inundated with requests from drama schools. Maybe some time in the Spring would be good?
I think the truth is that an agent's books are never truly closed - even when they state that they are. If they came across brilliant talent then they wouldn't miss the opportunity of offering representation.
If you are an adult performer then you do normally need to wait until you have something worthwhile to offer them to come and see you in - though quite a lot of agents will now look at showreels rather than going to live performances.
Actors' Yearbook gives quite a lot of advice and information about this subject.

Don't know when the best time would be but between now and April time I would have thought is probably a time to avoid as all the schools are presenting various productions and showcases to which a lot of agents go.
