Hi,
Does anyone know much about EDSA performing arts school (Hitchin)? They heavily advertise in our area and I was wondering if anyone on here could share their personal experience? They say they have guest teachers every week, not sure it's a good thing? thank you.

Hi, dd has been going to Edsa for 2.5 years and I can assure you it's a very professional school, best in the area in my opinion. The teachers are truly dedicated and wonderful. Dd absolutely loves it. I can tell you anything you need to know, please feel free to ask any questions. There's another napm member whose dd goes there and I'm sure she feels the same way as I do.

My DD only started in October and she absolutely loves it, her dancing has improved no end and we think its a great thing that they have visiting tutors that actually work in the industry - many are in shows themselves - so every week the children end up having valuable workshops this way. Emil and his team are very friendly and assuring and the fact that for a whole term they have had nothing but technique; rather than just rehearsing for shows, I think is well worth it.

Hi, thank you for your replies! My daughter (she's only 6) tried it and loved it (she loves all classes like this) but as the parents weren't allowed to stay I can't say for myself so it's great to hear your positive comments. I looked them up on YouTube and it seemed great only I didn't see any little ones in the clips... They say on the website they do occasional extra rehearsal for shows, how often are they? Do they usually have one show per year? Thanks again!

Up until now they did a summer show and a showcase, this year is only the showcase. They do a lot of extra rehearsals before the show and everyone is expected to attend. The little ones have shorter call times then the rest. It is hard work, but kids seem to somehow find the energy to go through it all and love it. Dd was 5 and a half when she had her first show. I was worried, but she did it and felt very confident after. And I felt extremely proud... Can't wait for the summer!

my dd is in the older PDP team(professional development programme) and the PDP+ selected dance team...she has been going for 2 and a half years and loves it..she also does the extra tap lessons.
Having come from a full time theatre school we did not think we could find something local that was at the same if not better standard.
It is hard work and they are pushed to the limits but they all love it...
Their shows and showcases are amazing and we like the fact that they have west end professionals as guest teachers..
also the older teams are offered private singing and acting lessons to help them with their auditions for musical theatre unis and colleges..
I agree with Ditzi, it is well worth it..
Go for it and see what you think..try the free taster sessions
