What's the best way to try to get involved in a reputable short film?

Thanks for any advice!

Hi - we've done quite a few and enjoyed them all. We have had 1 end up without a film being produced (but DS still enjoyed it). They come up on kccp and starnow websites. You can usually pick the ones that are good vs the ones that will never see the light of day, or have content that I would deem inappropriate. We licence everything and that helps filter out the time wasters too, as well as giving us protection against unreasonable hours etc. many have never come across licensing so we help them with that. Good luck!

Go to an Act2Cam film camp.

Young people see the production process through from concept to shoot. There are opportunities as cast or crew or both. And you get a short film at the end. The quality of the films is astonishingly good, in my opinion. If you search Act2Cam on YouTube you'll see some examples. My favourite is called Big Foot George. My girls were in one titled 'The Unwritten Blackness'.

The film camps are also residential, so the young people have a good time as well as working on the film together. My girls were a bit young for this, so we stayed in a B&B nearby, but they still participated in the film-making.

And the film camps are very good value for money too.

Good luck
